Fax Number: (406)513-1139

Tina has resided in Helena, Montana for most of her life and enjoys the outdoors, traveling and a variety of sports. Her husband, Scott is a Helena native. Tina and Scott have been foster parents and enjoy spending as much time as possible with their very large extended family.

In 1989 she earned her BA in Social Work from Carroll College in Helena, and received her Master of Professional Counseling from the University of Great Falls in 1996.

Her work with children, adolescents and families since 1982 in the Helena area included Chemical Dependency Counselor (Shodair Hospital) and Crisis Counselor (Tri-Counties) before being employed for 15 years by Intermountain Children’s Home. While at Intermountain, Tina’s positions included counselor, coordinator, and psychotherapist. She led a psychotherapy group for sexually abused children and co-led a research team regarding sexually abused children and their treatment needs. She also provided on-campus trainings, psychosocial assessments, and psychotherapy for emotionally disturbed children and their families.

During her time at Intermountain she had the privilege of working with a variety of professionals here and around the country and often provided a supportive “voice” for children within the legal and foster care systems and various educational systems. She was very active with team development and program development.

Tina opened her private practice in 1999 providing clinical treatment for children, teens, adults, families and individuals around the Helena area. She often works with school systems and local social service agencies. She has served as an expert witness in Montana courts and in other states testifying in cases of abuse and treatment needs.

After Tina made a few needed renovations to the property, in 2008 Custer Avenue Counseling opened its doors to Helena area children, teens, families and adults. The dedicated, caring therapists at CAC have brought a wide variety of psychotherapeutic disciplines together under one group to truly meet folks’ mental health needs.

She works with a variety of insurance programs including Medicaid, CHIP, Blue Cross Blue Shield, New West, Tricare, Ceridian, and others.
